WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The University of New England women's tennis squad turned its narrowest Conference of New England (CNE) win from one year ago into a clean sweep on Saturday (Sep. 19), as the Nor'easters chalked up a 7-0 decision over the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) at the Speer Tennis Complex.

Last season, UNE's Nora Hill battled through three sets for the deciding point against the Bluejays, as the Nor'easters finished on the right side of the only 4-3 margin versus a league opponent.

"Really proud of the team's performance today," UNE head coach Adam Reeb shared after the match. "There was a great commitment to playing the way we wanted to, especially in the doubles, which set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. The team showed really nice composure in the singles, as well, and we were pleased with how everyone competed point-by-point."

Hill and Madeline Frank kicked things off with a 6-2 result at #1 doubles, and the #3 tandem of Grace Catalano and Leanna Matczak followed with an identical score to secure the doubles point for the visitors. For good measure, Andie Lamontagne and Sofia Salcedo Ladaga got the win at #2 doubles in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4).

First to the finish in singles this time around was Hill, booking a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the #2 spot. Salcedo Ladaga at #5 singles (6-2, 6-0), Lamontagne at #3 (6-3, 6-0), and Frank at #1 (6-1, 7-5) put the Nor'easters over the top in the overall contest.

With matching 6-3, 6-4 score lines at #4 and #6 singles, respectively, Catalano and Alyssa Fritschka gave UNE the perfect 9-for-9 showing.

The win moves the Nor'easters to 4-1 on the season, 1-1 in CNE action. USJ drops to 2-4 (1-1).

UNE heads to Endicott College for another conference outing on Wednesday.
