SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --
Kenzie Cleary took home the bronze medal with a school record in the javelin to lead the University of New England on day one at the 2026 New England Division III Track & Field Championships on Friday (May 1) at Springfield College.
Cleary saved her best throw for last, logging a distance of 39.25 meters to better her own program record by over three feet. The rookie is the only the second Nor'easter to secure a spot on the podium at the regional event, joining another 3rd-place effort in 2024.
Olivia Chase also produced an improvement to her UNE record in the hammer throw, launching it 47.98 meters. The senior had three of her six best career throws on the day to place 8th and collect a second straight All-New England nod.
In the 5,000 meters, the Nor'easters put two in the top eight with the fifth and sixth-best times in school history --
Sky Anderson clocked 18:14.23 for 7th place, and
Maya Brochu was 8th in 18:17.96.
UNE nearly doubled its all-time All-New England tally during the afternoon, turning five into nine.
