Fay powers UNE at Gordon Shootout

WENHAM, Mass. -- Noah Fay shared the third-best round of the day as the University of New England men's golf team placed fourth out of five schools in the Gordon College Shootout at Wenham Country Club on Saturday (Apr. 25).

Aided by three birdies, Fay turned in a 5-over-par 70 that was two strokes off the pace set by Cam Desante of Nichols College.

The Bison also had the runner-up in Jacob Andreozzi, with a 69, and NC posted 286 as a squad, but so did the host Fighting Scots. Gordon took the title based on the fifth score no counting towards the team total.

The Nor'easters collected scores of 74 from Owen Lee, 78 out of Ben Donahue, and an 85 by Sean Guerrette to reach their score of 307, which was four back of Saint Joseph's College (303).

Joining the action of the first time and competing as an individual was Fernand-Olivier Perron. He drained a pair of birdies to shoot 74.

UNE is back in Maine on Sunday at Springbrook Golf Club for the SJC Invitational.
