BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Several student-athletes at the University of New England were recognized on Tuesday (Apr. 21) during the University Awards Ceremony, which primarily highlights accomplishments within the University's College of Arts & Sciences and the College of Business.
- Outstanding Student Award for Business Administration: David Wilcox, men's ice hockey & men's lacrosse
- Outstanding Student Award for Medical Sciences: Sydney Pelletier, women's tennis
- Outstanding Student Award for Mental Health Rehabilitation: Celeste Valerio, women's rugby
- Outstanding Student Award for Neuroscience: Danielle McCarthy, women's ice hockey
- Outstanding Student Award for Sport Leadership & Management: Connor Curcio, men's basketball
- Outstanding Undergraduate Research & Scholarship Award for Medicine or Public Health: Jamie DuPont, women's ice hockey
- Sophomore Award for Academic Excellence: Kaia Anderson, women's basketball
- Student Leader Award: Pelletier
Gaining induction into the Alpha Chi Honor Society (academic top 10 percent of a third or fourth-year class) were the following:
Liv Arvidson (softball),
Lindsey Butler (women's soccer),
Averi Curran (women's ice hockey),
Amy Hatfield (women's soccer),
Edward Iannuzzi-Sucich (men's cross country),
Hannah Irons (softball), and
Addie Watson (women's soccer).
Into the Psi Chi Honor Society (Psychology):
Kimman Power (men's basketball) and
Hannah Ramalho (women's rugby).
Additionally, Pelletier was a nominee for the Jacques Downs Award for Academic Excellence, which is the highest honor presented to a graduating student.
