UNE reaches Spring 7s Championship final, bested by Bowdoin

PHILIPPI, W.V. – The University of New England women's rugby team defeated Guilford and Warren Wilson on its way to the title match on Saturday, and was ultimately defeated by Bowdoin at the NIRA Spring 7s Championship.
 
A 33-5 loss to the Polar Bears preceded a 12-10 triumph over Guilford and a 27-10 win over Warren Wilson. Bowdoin claimed the final, 43-7, over the Nor'easters.
 
Maeve McNulty scored three tries, including two against Warren Wilson. Aryn Ward scored UNE's lone try in the championship loss to Bowdoin. Leah Underwood recorded a conversion in each of the Nor'easters' final three matches.
 
UNE was also second in the 2025 event, also with wins over Guilford and Warren Wilson, plus Emory & Henry.
