Nor'easters snag 2nd at Korzec Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Noah Fay registered a season-best round of 77 to guide the University of New England men's golf team to a 2nd-place showing out of five institutions in the Rich Korzec Invitational hosted by Worcester State University on Monday (Apr. 13) at Tatnuck Country Club.

Western New England University, powered by the medalist round of one-over-par 71 from Derek Johnson and a runner-up 73 out of Alex Noti, took the team title with a score of 307. The Nor'easters were 12 shots back at 319, followed by Salem State University (321), the host Lancers (325), and Westfield State University (336).

Fay dropped in three birdies to share the tournament-high with three others, and notched his best finish of the year, placing solo 3rd. Owen Lee shared fourth in the field of 26 players with a 79, while Sean Guerrette and Ben Donahue added 80 and 83, respectively, to round out the squad score.

The Nor'easters are next scheduled to compete at the Gordon College Shootout on April 25.
