BEVERLY, Mass. -- University of New England first-year netminder
Kyleigh Matola has been selected as both the Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Ice Hockey
Goaltender of the Year and
Rookie of the Year, while senior
Jamie DuPont has been tabbed as the
Scholar-Athlete of the Year, with the announcement of the 2025-26 season awards on Wednesday (Mar. 4) by CNE Assistant Commissioner Brett Bosley.
The Goaltender of the Year distinction for Matola comes with the position's lone spot on the
CNE 1st Team all-conference. Back during the 2017-18 campaign -- UNE's last season as part of the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) -- was the only other time a Nor'easter goalie received such status. A league's top rookie has never resided in Biddeford.
DuPont is just the second player in program history to land the Scholar-Athlete honor.
