Bowdoin tops UNE in competitive 15-7 decision

BIDDEFORD, Maine – 10 unanswered points from Bowdoin allowed the Polar Bears to come away with a 15-7 victory over the University of New England women's rugby team in Friday night's 15s match at Blue Storm Stadium.

Bowdoin had an early 5-0 lead before Joslyn Griffeth put UNE on the board with a try, followed by Caroline Rhodes' conversion that gave the Nor'easters a 7-5 edge. That score only stood for a few minutes as the Polar Bears reclaimed the lead, 10-7, with Amanda Korfin's try. Liv Groth scored her second of the evening late in the match to extend Bowdoin's advantage.

The Nor'easters are set for a homecoming matchup with Keene State at Blue Storm Stadium Saturday, Oct. 17. The 15s match will begin at 5 p.m.
