KEENE, N.H. -- The University of New England men's cross country team placed 23rd in a deep field at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 3).

Williams College (55) edged MIT (58) for the team title, with Bowdoin College (91) finishing a distant third.

Troy Silvestri cooked along at a 5:24 pace to place 71st overall with an eight-kilometer time of 26:51. Thomas Hoff (146th - 28:13), Michael Erickson (208th - 29:29), CJ McDonald (214th - 29:40) and Isaiah Cyr (232nd - 30:21) accounted for the remainder of UNE's scoring runners.

"I'm happy with how the men competed," said UNE head coach Kourtney Bonsey. "This team has been training hard since August and the results are starting to show. CJ stepped up big time today as our #4 runner, and ran a personal-best by over one minute."

The Nor'easters will return to action on Oct. 17 at the Connecticut College Invitational.
