NEW LONDON, N.H. -- Colby-Sawyer College collected a 4-0 win against the University of New England in the opening round of the 2026 Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Tennis Championship at the Kelsey Courts on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 27).
The fourth-seeded Chargers (9-2) advance to meet No.1 Endicott College in Thursday's semifinals, while the Nor'easters close out their fall campaign with an overall record of 11-5.
Colby-Sawyer cruised to the doubles point by taking the #2 and #3 matches, while UNE's
Madeline Frank and
Nora Hill had rallied from a 3-0 hole to trail 4-3 at #1 doubles when the session was clinched.
The hosts finished off #5, #1, and #4 singles to seal the overall decision, but the three remaining singles were very much in the thick of tightly-contest battles. CSC was up one set in each, however, Hill was in front (5-4) on the #2 line and
Andie Lamontagne at #3 held a 4-3 lead. At #6,
Olivia Crooker had the closest first set, and was hanging tough in the second (4-6, 3-4).
