BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Gianna Korisianos got the University of New England rolling with scores in the 2nd and 3rd periods, as the Nor'easters extended to a 5-0 Conference of New England (CNE) field hockey victory over Gordon College at Blue Bolt Field on Saturday (Oct. 17).

Total shots were 11-1 at the midway break, but the lone tally (26th minute) came from a penalty corner insert by Ayla Lagasse, finding Korisianos at the top of the circle for a shot threaded through a crowd into the left corner for her fifth goal of the year [Watch].

Lagasse closed the day with four helpers -- the first four points in a Nor'easter uniform for the sophomore transfer, and the first four-assist performance in school history.

Korisianos struck again in the 33rd minute by beating the goalie to the left post [Watch], and momentarily took the team-lead in goals scored.

Lagasse made a great run into the zone and dished it right to Riley Zielinski for a goal in the 50th minute to make it 3-0 [Watch]. The hosts then struck 63 seconds apart for a couple more -- Isabel Culver netted her first of the season with a diving redirection off a cross from Josie Johnson [Watch], and Ella Reeves converted with a blast on a corner [Watch]. The last goal, assisted by Culver and Lagasse, put Reeves back with a share of the team-best total (6).

UNE (7-8, 4-2 CNE) has captured the last 18 meetings against the Fighting Scots (2-14, 0-6), which includes 13 shutouts. Riley Curtin (52 minutes) and Maia Cote didn't have to make any saves to support the result, as the final numbers had the hosts with a 26-1 advantage in shots (13-0 on goal) and 13-1 cushion in corners.

"It was a nice team win for us on Homecoming Weekend," said UNE head coach Danielle Collins. "Certainly a slower start than we would've liked, but we finally found our groove and began making good plays count."

Haylee Briggs posted eight stops for Gordon.

The Nor'easters will entertain Husson University in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday (5 p.m.).
