BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Fueled by a first-place performance from Sally Kelton and four runners in the first five, the University of New England women's cross country team ran away from the field in the 2025 Ron Ouellette Invitational held Saturday morning (Sept. 6) at Rotary Park.

Kelton claimed victory in her first collegiate start, circling the 3.22-kilometer loop in a time of 12:27. Maya Brochu finished 15 seconds later for the Nor'easters to claim the runner-up spot, and Sylvie DiBartolomeo (3rd - 12:51) and Gianna Rodriguez (4th - 13:05) cracked the Top 5. Corinna Hobbs rounded out UNE's scoring contingent, placing seventh with a time of 13:20.

The Nor'easters totaled 17 points to easily distance themselves from University of Southern Maine (40). St. Joseph's College of Maine placed third with a score of 84.

UNE is back in action next Saturday (Sept. 13) at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College.
