BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England men's cross country team placed three runners in the Top 15 on its way to a second-place finish at the Ron Ouellette Invitational held Saturday morning (Sept. 6) at Rotary Park.

The University of Southern Maine offered an impressive performance to take home the team title with a score of 21. UNE (69) edged out Maine Maritime Academy by one point to claim the runner-up spot.

Troy Silvestri (6th - 16:27) and Thomas Hoff (10th - 16:58) put forth Top 10 performances to lead the way for the Nor'easters. Jackson Stone (15th - 17:36), Michael Erickson (19th - 17:45) and CJ McDonald (23rd - 18:04) also scored for the hosts.

Southern Maine's Michael Cyr posted a winning time of 16:05 over the five-kilometer course to take home individual honors.

UNE is back in action next Saturday (Sept. 13) at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College.
