BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England women's rugby team notched two wins over UMaine Farmington and suffered two losses to Thomas on Friday evening at Blue Stadium in a 7s invitational.
 
Thomas was undefeated in three matches, while UMaine Farmington was 0-3.
 
Celeste Valerio and Joslyn Griffeth both scored a pair of tries on the evening for the Nor'easters, who downed UMaine Farmington in back-to-back outings by scores of 32-5 and 22-0. The first match of the evening was a 19-0 UNE loss to Thomas and the evening was capped with another loss to the Terriers, 29-10.
 
UNE's first lopsided win over UMaine Farmington used six different try scorers, plus a conversion by Leah Underwood. Four different Nor'easters found the try zone in the second triumph, including Ava Houde, who also added a conversion.
 
UNE is set to visit Thomas on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 1:30 p.m.
