CUMBERLAND, Maine -- Trevor Flanagan and Ben Donahue played the last six holes in two-under to lead the University of New England men's golf team to a one-stroke victory, 315-316, over Southern Maine Community College at Val Halla Golf Club on Friday (Apr. 25).

In UNE's first competitive action since October, the duo finished first and second out of the 10 players navigating the par-72 track. Flanagan made five birdies, including three in the first four holes of the back side, to post 73 for the low score by two over Donahue (75).

Supporting the Nor'easter win was Sean Guerrette with 82 and Tim Melley at 85.

The Seawolves were paced by Chris Keene, and displayed consistency in their top four with 77, 78, 80, and 81, but the margin created by Flanagan and Donahue was too large to overcome.

UNE is back on the links Monday at the Rich Korzec Invitational hosted by Worcester State University.
