CANTON, Mass. -- Second seed Curry College received a pair of goals from Hannah Berkowitz and 21 saves out of Sarah Kerr on the way to a 5-0 decision versus third-seeded University of New England in the semifinals of the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Ice Hockey Championship on Saturday night (Mar. 1) at Canton Ice House.
With the result, the Colonels (12-13-1) advance to the league final for the second straight year and will head to No.1 Endicott College, which topped Suffolk University by a 3-1 score to reach next Saturday's title round.
The Nor'easters conclude the season with a 13-13-1 record after reaching the conference semifinals for the sixth consecutive competitive campaign.
Berkowitz got the hosts on the board just 32 seconds into the contest, and it was 2-0 midway through the 1st period once Bella Mardesich found the back of the net.
Following a goal by Danielle Reid in the 2nd, Berkowitz struck with 21 ticks left in the middle frame. Grayson Goolgasian added a power play tally to cap things in the 3rd.
For Curry, Mardesich and Goolgasian both registered three assists to go with their goals. Kerr played the initial 58:23 between the pipes to notch the victory, before giving way to Vivi Helquist to make one more save and complete the shutout.
On the UNE side,
Kirsten DiCicco had 19 saves over 50 minutes of work.
Mackenzie O'Leary had a game-high three blocked shots.
