BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Nationally-ranked Endicott College received an 18 saves from Lauren Ferrari to backstop a 4-0 Conference of New England (CNE) women's ice hockey decision versus the University of New England on Friday night (Feb. 21) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
The No.11 Gulls (19-4-1, 14-2-1 CNE) are now unbeaten in their last 11 contests, while the result halts UNE's three-game win streak.
The Nor'easters (12-11-1, 9-7-1) remain two points behind Curry College entering the final day of the regular season on Saturday, in the battle for the second seed in the upcoming championship -- UNE travels to last-place Nichols College, and the Colonels visit EC.Â
Mackenzie Graham and Teaghan Hall accounted for the 1st-period scoring on the visiting side, Samantha Fantasia padded the cushion in the 2nd, and Lily Anderson closed out the score sheet in the 3rd. Hall and Anderson both assisted once before their goals, and were joined at two points by Lilly Corso and Cammi Ahern.
Endicott got out to the two-goal lead in spite of UNE claiming 14-of-20 faceoffs in the frame.
