Results

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The University of New England women's swimming team rolled out its superior depth to defeat Westfield State University, 191-61, and Western New England University, 194-58, to close out the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 1) at Westfield's Ely Pool.

The results cap the winningest dual-meet campaign for the Nor'easters (8-1), percentage-wise, in program history.

Mic Hujus topped the lineup with two event wins for UNE, coming in the 100-free (55.95) and the 50-fly (27.63). She now owns the two fastest 100-free times in the Little East Conference (LEC) this year, and Hujus now also holds the LEC's leading mark in the 50-fly -- 0.63 ahead of teammate Adria Horton from last week.

Ari Cioffi (200-free; 2:13.50), April Falstad (1,000-free; 13:05.36), Maeve McDermott (100-breast; 1:14.86), Eloise Ring (500-free; 5:51.75), and Liv Roux (100-back; 1:08.79) collected the other five solo race victories to help fuel the Nor'easters.

UNE paced the respective fields in the 200-medley and 200-free relays, as well. The 200-medley group of Horton, McDermott, Hujus, and Ring clocked 1:58.85, and the 200-free squad of Ring, Horton, Cioffi, and Elli Donovan posted 1:50.78 to clip the host Owls by 0.30 seconds.

Horton was second place in the closest individual swim of the afternoon, ending up just 0.32 behind Caitlin Guntly of WNEU in the 100-fly.

Ella Smith won twice for the Golden Bears, finishing just in front of McDermott in both the 50-breast and 200-IM. Westfield's Alexa Richter touched the wall first ahead of Hujus in the 50-free, and Olivia Harkins edged out Roux in the 200-back.

The Nor'easters now have roughly two weeks to prepare for the 2025 LEC Championships, which begin on February 14.
