BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Megan Martodam scored twice for No.13 Colby College in a 4-0 non-conference women's ice hockey result versus the University of New England on Wednesday night (Dec. 3) at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Shot attempts neared 100 chances for the nationally-ranked Mules (3-1), while the final tally of shots on target settled at 49-10.
Danielle DeJon piled up 45 saves for the Nor'easters (3-6) -- the most by a UNE goalie in almost exactly two calendar years, since a match with Colby in 2023-24.
Martodam took a Lulu Gray feed from behind the net and lifted one into the top far-side corner for the only goal of the 1st period (16:57). The visitors made it 2-0 with 4:12 gone in the 2nd, as Addie Paskowski threaded a shot through and off UNE legs and sticks before it ricocheted under the bar.
Molly Lefebvre scored just over 20 minutes later from a low angle, as she centered the puck in front of the crease paint and it caromed off a UNE skate behind DeJon. With 7:18 left, Martodam settled a bouncer in front and stuffed in five-hole.
Grace Caliguri was called upon for 10 saves to record the shutout for the Mules; among them, a breakaway denial in the middle of the 1st stanza. DeJon also made a stop in transition a few minutes earlier to keep things level at the time
