Maya Brochu led a 15th-place effort by the University of New England out of 30 institutions in the 2025 NCAA Division III East Women's Cross Country Championship at Hopkinton Fairgrounds on Saturday (Nov. 15).
Nationally-ranked No.17 Tufts University pulls a small upset at the front of the pack, with five runners inside the top 14 to score 51 points and edge No.3 MIT (61), which had the first two runners in the field of 214 competitors. Next in the team standings were Brandeis University (117), Suffolk University (153), No.27 Bowdoin College (158), Bates College (164), and Wellesley College (168). The Nor'easters totaled 445.
MIT's Kate Sanderson completed the 6K course in 21:20 for the individual title.
Brochu wound up a couple of spots outside of all-region status by crossing the line in 37th with a time of 22:45.

Corinna Hobbs (118th; 25:15), and
Haley Clegg (158th; 26:23) supplied the rest of the pieces to UNE's overall number.
