BOSTON -- The University of New England women's swimming team ran its early-season record to 3-0 in dual meets with a 169-99 victory over Simmons University Friday evening (Nov. 14) at the Holmes Sports Center.
Mic Hujus figured into four event wins for the Nor'easters, taking home individual triumphs in the 50-yard freestyle (24.83) and the 100-yard free (54.57), while swimming the anchor leg in UNE's victory in the 200-yard medley relay and leading off in squad's win in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Maeve McDermott earned wins in the 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke events with times of 34.23 and 1:16.32. She also swam a leg in the 200-yard medley relay.Â
Also contributing event victories were
Mya Peters (1000-yard free),
Bella Shrewsbury (50-yard backstroke),
Tess Zurawski (200-yard backstroke) and
Eloise Ring (500-yard freestyle). Shrewsbury and Ring teamed with McDermott and Hujus to win the medley relay, while Shrewsbury, Zurawski and Ellie Donovan teamed up with Hujus for the win in the freestyle relay.
The Nor'easters will are off for three weeks before wrapping up first-semester action at the Maine Invitational, which will be held Dec. 5-6 at Colby College in Waterville.
