BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Mic Hujus, Maeve McDermott, and Mya Peters combined for eight event wins to power the University of New England in a 155-106 women's swimming triumph against Mount Holyoke College on Saturday (Nov. 1) at the Campus Center Pool. It was the first Nor'easter victory in the all-time series between the programs, dating back 10 years.

Hujus displayed relative dominance to the field in the 50-free (25.54), 100-free (55.73), and 50-fly (27.66), while McDermott was similarly strong in the 50-breast (33.40), 100-breast (1:14.06), and the 200-IM (2:24.39).

Peters notched the first of nine individual race victories for the hosts -- the 200-free (2:13.29) -- and then clocked 5:59.22 in the 500-free to clip teammate Eloise Ring (-0.68).

Another rookie, Bella Shrewsbury, swam away with the 50-back (30.84), beating Maya Oakes of MHC by 0.81 seconds. They flipped in the standings for the 100-back, with Oakes finishing 0.72 in front of Shrewsbury.

Evelyn Rousseau (1000-free) and Isabel Dunn (100-fly) had the other top results for the Lyons.

UNE claimed both relays, as the group of Liv Roux, Meghan Cabral, McDermott, and Hujus won the 200-medley version (2:00.25), and then Ari Cioffi, Ring, Elli Donovan, and Shrewsbury hit the wall first in the 200-free event (1:51.06).

The Nor'easters will be back in action on Wednesday, November 12 (7 p.m.) to face Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
