Statistics

BOSTON -- Cassidy Morrison scored for the second time to break up a tied game in the latter portion of the 3rd period to tip the University of Massachusetts-Boston over the University of New England, 2-1, in women's ice hockey action Saturday afternoon (Nov. 1) at Barry Rink.

Both of Morrison's goals for the Beacons (1-0) were unassisted -- at 4:05 of the 1st frame, and 13:59 of the final stanza.

The Nor'easters (1-1) had pulled level after almost 40 minutes behind on the scoreboard at 3:48 of the 3rd, on a tally by Keely Kasputis. Jamie DuPont assisted on the play, which was Kasputis' first marker since February 2024.

Veronika Hadamovsky totaled 25 saves for the hosts, while rookie netminders Emily Bresnahan and Kyleigh Matola essentially split time for UNE. Bresnahan seven stops over the initial 28:51, and Matola had eight the rest of the way.

Hannah Humes and Makenzie O'Leary each registered three blocked shots for the Nor'easters, who will open their home slate, along with Conference of New England (CNE) play, on Friday (7 p.m.) against Western New England University.
