BLOOMFIELD, Conn. -- The University of New England shot 318 and 324 on the way to a 7th-place effort at the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Men's Golf Championship, which wrapped up Round 2 of the 36-hole event on Sunday (Oct. 5) at Tumble Brook Country Club.

The University of Hartford, in the rotation as this year's host, captured the league's automatic spot in May's national tournament by posting 593 (294-299) for an 11-stroke victory. Endicott College (604: 302-302), Western New England University (608: 306-302), and reigning champion Roger Williams University (610: 311-299) occupied places two through four. Sharing fifth was Gordon College (637: 328-309) and Suffolk University (637: 314-323), ahead of the Nor'easters (642) in the field of nine institutions.

Derek Johnson of WNEU ran away with the individual title -- also by 11 -- after carding rounds of 4-under and 5-under for a 135 total.

UNE's lineup was tightly-bunched, with three strokes separating four players in their respective two-day scores. Ben Donahue came in a 159 (81-78), Owen Lee registered 160 (80-80), Jimmy Hulland logged 161 (78-83), and Noah Fay contributed 162 (79-83). Hulland's opening round was a personal-best number.

The Nor'easters will host the UNE Invitational on Wednesday (10 a.m.) at Cape Arundel Golf Club.
