BIDDEFORD, Maine – 12 unanswered points by Colby helped the Mules put away the University of New England women's rugby team, 36-15, in 15s action on Friday evening at Blue Storm Stadium.
Despite
Celeste Valerio's 10 points, the Nor'easters were unable to fully climb back after facing a 12-0 deficit fewer than 15 minutes into the match. Valerio scored the first of her two tries late in the first half (

Jo Clark scored early in the second half (
Watch) to bring UNE within two (12-10), but the Mules regained control with back-to-back tries from Annabel Hehir and Annika Mannix.
UNE gained momentum late in the second half with Valerio's second try (
Watch), cutting Colby's lead to 24-15 before Lucy Barest put the match away with a try and conversion, eventually finishing the night with 11 points (one try and three conversions). Alli Caputo had the Mules' final score in last three minutes of action.
