BREWSTER, Mass. -- Abby Flanagan capped off a stellar October by finishing 3rd out of 50 individuals at the 90th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship, which ended on Sunday (Oct. 19) at The Captains Golf Course. Out of 10 squads, the University of New England women's golf team took eighth.

After winning the UNE Invitational and the inaugural Conference of New England (CNE) Championship -- with fields combining to 47 golfers -- Flanagan (161) shot 81 and 80 to wind up 13 strokes back of Victoria Adams (+4 148) from Bates College, who clipped teammate Mehar Nijjer by eight (156).

The Bobcats also claimed the other two spots within the top five to log a team score of 631 (319-312) and cruised to an 81-shot victory over the University of Hartford (712: 345-367).

Flanagan's performance -- which included two birdies, 17 pars, and one shot off of the leading par-3 scoring average (+1) -- was good for All-New England status.

The Nor'easters (411-400) received a nine-stroke improvement between Round 1 and Round 2 from Danielle DeJon (209: 109-100). Eadie Nadeau (219) contributed the team's second-best score on Saturday, with 105, and Ella Lemieux (222) shaved 10 off during the final round 106.
