UNE wraps fall season at New England Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. -- The University of New England concluded the fall portion of its schedule on Sunday (Oct. 19) at the 90th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship, which was being played at The Captains Golf Course.

Topping the leaderboard of 21 institutions was the University of Hartford with a two-day total of 598 (299-299), two strokes in front of Western New England University (600: 301-299) and seven better than Endicott College (605: 304-301). The Nor'easters were 20th with 674 (333-341).

Derek Johnson of the Golden Bears was the low player (144) with a pair of even-par rounds -- one shot clear of the next closest in the field of 119.

For UNE, Noah Fay had a 36-hole score of 161 (82-79). Senior captain Ben Donahue came in at 163 (82-81), Owen Lee added 172 (81-91), and Sean Guerrette posted 178 (88-90).

Competing as an individual, Casey Huse went 82-85 (167).
