Major award for Flanagan; Forziati also CNE 1st Team

BEVERLY, Mass. -- University of New England junior Abby Flanagan has been recognized as the Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Golf Player of the Year, and is joined by junior Amanda Forziati on the CNE 1st Team, as the 2025 season awards were released by CNE Assistant Commissioner Brett Bosley on Thursday (Oct. 16). It was the first year that the sport was part of the league sponsorship.

For Flanagan, the major distinction goes to the top finisher at the conference championship, which concluded last weekend. Flanagan and Forziati completed the 36-hole event in a three-way tie with Krisna Mahendran of Suffolk University, before Flanagan drained a 12-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to emerge victorious.

All-Conference honors are also generated by order of finish for the first eight players (and ties) in the championship, denoting first and second teams in groups of four.

The two all-conference squads included three from Suffolk, two from the Nor'easters as well as the University of Hartford, and one from Nichols College.
