BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Five different members of the University of New England women's swimming team turned in two first-place efforts to help fuel a 202-59 victory over Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday afternoon (Jan.11) at the Campus Center Pool.

Adria Horton, Tess Zurawski, Maeve McDermott, and Payton Walmsley were joined in that regard by sophomore Mic Hujus, competing for the first time this season after studying abroad during the fall semester. Hujus last swam at the 2024 Little East Conference Championships, when she was named the LEC Rookie of the Year.

During the 50-free, her first individual event, Hujus clocked the fastest time (25.68; +.25) by an LEC member over the past three months. She later captured the 50-fly (28.37) with another UNE season-best speed.

Horton, Hujus, and Elli Donovan each factored in both relay wins, as well. The trio teamed up with Walmsley for the quickest 200-medley relay (1:56.78) by the Nor'easters this year, and then paired with McDermott for a 1:47.46 in the 200-free relay triumph.

Horton notched UNE's top time of the season to win the 200-free (2:04.13), and then was victorious in the 500-free (5:31.77). McDermott went 2:28.73 for 200-IM result, and touched at 1:08.32 for the 100-IM win.

Walmsley first picked up the 50-breast (33.29), and then claimed the 200-breast (2:44.80), which included edging out McDermott by just under one second. Zurawski, in addition to claiming the 200-back (2:23.45), made her first mark in the 50-back (31.77) -- the tightest finish of the day. Liv Roux was 0.49 seconds behind, while Donovan came in 0.64 after Zurawski.

Donovan added an 11th solo first-place showing for the Nor'easters by taking the 100-free (1:00.70), with teammate Ari Cioffi 0.72 seconds back.

For the Mariners, Claire MacDonald registered the lone event victory in the 100-fly.

UNE is off to Rhode Island College next Saturday.
