BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England sophomore Troy Silvestri finished second out of a field of 70 runners, as the Nor'easters opened their 2024 season by hosting the Ron Ouellette Invitational Saturday morning (Sept. 7) at Rotary Park.

The reigning Conference of New England Rookie of the Year posted a time of 15:50 over the five-kilometer course to place one spot behind winner Ryan Outerbridge of Franklin Pierce University. Outerbridge finished at 15:35 to lead the Ravens (37 points) to the team title. The University of Southern Maine (49), St. Joseph's College of Maine (88), Maine Maritime Academy (91) and UNE (107) rounded out the Top 5.

Thomas Hoff (20th - 17:13), Jackson Stone (23rd - 17:40), Tommy Norgang (29th - 18:12) and Jack O'Connor (33rd - 18:22) accounted for UNE's scoring runners.

The University of New England is off next week before returning to action Sept. 21 at the Maine Championship, hosted by Bates College at Roy's Disc Golf in Auburn.
