CASCO, Maine -- Amanda Forziati fired a round of 82 as the University of New England women's golf program took part in its first event on Wednesday (Sep. 4) at the John Queenan Memorial Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine at Point Sebago Golf Course.

The newest of UNE's 19 varsity sports kicked off the inaugural season by competing as individuals in a field of 20 players representing five teams around the par 72 track.

Forziati's 10-over-par score was good for 3rd place, three strokes off the pace set by Lindsay Cote of Husson University (79) and one back of Charlotte Blanchard from Southern Maine Community College.

Reese LeMay (113), Katelynn LeBlanc (121), Eadie Nadeau (124), and Anna O'Neill (128) were the other Nor'easters in action for the first time.

UNE will participate in the modified-format Southern Maine Cup on Saturday at Riverside Golf Club.
