CUMBERLAND, Maine -- The University of New England women's golf team took 3rd place out of five institutions competing in the modified-scoring format Seawolf Shootout, hosted Wednesday (Sep. 25) by Southern Maine Community College at Val Halla Golf Club.

Instead of counting the traditional low four scores for a team, the event factored in just two per institution. SMCC claimed the top spot at 177, followed by Saint Joseph's College (192), the Nor'easters (194), the University of Southern Maine (205), and Husson University (211).

Among the 18 individuals, Amanda Forziati finished 3rd with a 17-over-par round of 89. Reese LeMay contributed the other UNE score, coming in with 105 -- a season-best by eight strokes.

Katelynn LeBlanc (117), Libby Stevens (120), and Eadie Nadeau (121) each recorded their lowest competitive totals of the year, as well.

The Nor'easters are slated to entertain SMCC and SJC next Friday at Cape Arundel Golf Club in Kennebunkport.
