OAKLAND, Maine --
Ben Donahue and
Sean Guerrette carded rounds of 79 and 81 to lead the University of New England men's golf squad to a tie for seventh place at the University of Maine-Farmington Invitational, which was held Saturday (Sep. 14) at Waterville Country Club.
Husson University dominated the nine-team field with a score of 283 -- a combined three-over-par between the top four individuals, who ended up in the first four spots on the solo leaderboard. Will Kavanaugh and Chris Kauppila both fired even-par 70s to pace the Eagles, who were 39 better than Maine Maritime Academy and Colby College (322).
The Nor'easters wound up at 340, along with the University of Southern Maine.
For UNE, which participates next Sunday at the Husky Classic hosted by USM at Riverside Golf Course,
Hank Hannan and
Tim Melley completed the team score with 90 and 90.
