WENHAM, Mass. -- The University of New England women's track & field team registered eight top-three finishes in events at Gordon College's Jon Tymann Invitational at the Brigham Athletic Complex on Saturday (Apr. 6).
Eden Morris topped the field in the triple jump (9.71 meters), with teammates
Izabella Haagenson and
Sydni Lehr next in line at 9.33m and 9.30m, respectively. Morris was also third in the long jump with 4.64 meters.
Haagenson clocked 1:14.39 in the 400m hurdles to take second place. She also ran the 100m hurdles for the first time and posted the fourth-best time in program history (18.27);
Sophia King was fractionally ahead, with 18.25 seconds.
The second-fastest time in UNE records during the 3,000m steeplechase was logged during the day by
Lucy Stevens with a time of 12:34.33.
In the discus,
Sarah LaVita placed third with 33.74m, and
Cheyenne Cahill notched 10.21m in the shot put.
Sienna Matregrano had a personal-best 32.99 in the hammer throw.
Next weekend, the Nor'easters will split between two different meets on both Friday and Saturday. The runners and jumpers will head for the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College, while the throwers will be at the Monks Invitational at Saint Joseph's College.
