Nor'easters drop 1-0 CNE decision to Curry

MILTON, Mass. -- Paige Bourgoin scored the only goal of the game to give Curry College a 1-0 result over the University of New England in Conference of New England (CNE) women's ice hockey action Friday night (Nov. 15) at the Canton Ice House.

Bourgoin struck at 15:14 of the first period, sniping a wrist shot from the mid-slot top shelf, just inside the left post. Rian Faery found Bourgoin with a pass to set up the goal.

Goaltender Coriann Hoag earned her first career shutout with a 16-save performance for the Colonels, who improved their record to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Hoag recorded 12 of her stops during a busy first period.

Kirsten DiCicco finished with 26 saves for the Nor'easters (0-4, 0-3 CNE), including 14 in the middle period when Curry blanked UNE 14-0 in shots on goal.

The two teams will square off tomorrow night in Biddeford. Puck-drop at the Harold Alfond Forum is scheduled for 7 p.m.
