Troy Silvestri was first across the line as the University of New England men's cross country squad took 3rd place out of 16 teams at the Western New England University Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 19).
The Nor'easters registered a score of 132 to wind up behind Endicott College (60) and Wentworth Institute of Technology (63) in the standings, and comfortably ahead of the host Golden Bears in fourth (159).
Silvestri posted an 8K time of 25:56 to top the field of 152Â -- 20 seconds faster than Endicott's Caleb Nye.
UNE's total was also generated by
Jackson Stone (22nd; 28:33),
Thomas Hoff (30th; 28:59),
Tommy Norgang (39th; 29:29), and
Michael Erickson (43rd; 29:43).
In two weeks (Nov. 2), the Nor'easters will revisit the WNEUÂ campus for the 2024 Conference of New England Men's Cross Country Championship.
