BRUNSWICK, Maine – The University of New England women's rugby team closed out its season on Saturday at the Bowdoin Polar Bear 7s Tournament. The A-side team went 2-2 and finished third on the day. The Nor'easter B-side team also went 2-2 overall.
UNE lost its first two matches of the day to Bowdoin (39-7) and Northeastern (24-17).
Mackenzie Burke had a try and conversion against the Polar Bears.

Mackayla O'Meara each scored against the Huskies.
The Nor'easters grabbed a 19-5 victory over American International in their third match of the day. Burke, Goodrich, and Valerio each touched in a try in the win. Burke also went 2-for-3 on conversions. UNE and the Yellow Jackets played again in the final match of the day with the Nor'easters grabbing at 36-5 victory and supplying some players to the AIC side. Goodrich shined on both the offense and defensive end and finished with two tries in the win. Bezzat also added two scores.
The B-side split a pair of matches each with Bowdoin B and Northeastern B. UNE used huge break out runs down the field to defeat the Polar Bears 20-10 to start the day. It followed with a 10-0 loss to the Huskies and a 14-10 defeat to Bowdoin. The Nor'easters finished with a 20-10 victory over Northeastern.
