Gulls edge Nor’easters in OT, 2-1

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Quin Healy tallied a goal 1:03 into overtime to lead Endicott College over the University of New England 2-1 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference battle at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday.
 
Keely Kasputis put the Nor'easters (7-12-3, 6-7-2 CCC) on the board first with 3:27 to play in the first period. Meghan Hamilton took a pass from Abbi Charvat at the opposing blue line and later found Kasputis with a dish between two Gulls (13-7-2, 11-4-0 CCC) defenders for the score. [Watch]
 
Jess Michals tied the game at 1-1 with 5:47 to play in the second period. Nicole Connor and Sydney Fascetta assisted on the tying goal.
 
Delanie Corcoran backstopped the UNE defense with 11 saves in the third period as the Nor'easters went into overtime.
 
Healy took a pass from Fascetta near the blue line and buried a shot from the slot to give Endicott the overtime victory.
 
Corcoran ended the night with 45 saves. Bailey Thieben had 12 stops in the victory.
 
UNE visits Nichols tomorrow afternoon at 4:40 p.m.
