WESTON, Mass. -- The University of New England women's swimming team rolled to 10 event victories on the way to a 156-102 win over Regis College (Mass.) and a 182-56 result versus the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) as the 2023-24 season began at the Regis Pool on Saturday (Oct. 7).

The Nor'easters (2-0) received three first-place efforts out of Adria Horton, and two apiece from Mic Hujus and Liv Roux. Meghan Cabral tacked on one more solo victory.

Roux, Cabral, Katie Durrua, and Hujus combined for the top spot in the 200-medley relay (2:01.47), while Hujus, Horton, Roux, and Eloise Ring picked up another triumph in the 200-freestyle relay (1:47.92).

Horton's wins came in the 1,000-freestyle (11:48.50), the 100-butterfly (1:06.25), and the 500-freestyle (5:43.56).

Hujus bested the fields in the 200-freestyle (2:03.76) and the 100-freestyle (54.66). She also picked up a Regis Pool record with the lead-off leg of the 200 free relay, clocking 25.05 to clip the 14-year-old mark of 25.13. Additionally, Hujus posted the fourth-fastest 100 free time in program history in her UNE debut.

Formerly a member of the Pride team, Roux edged Regis' Megan Miller on two occasions, first by 0.23 seconds in the 50-backstroke (31.65) and then 0.15 in the 100-backstroke (1:08.47). Miller got on the board for the hosts in the 50-butterfly, in which Durrua was 0.22 back (30.84) in third place.

After a second-place showing in the 50-breaststroke, less than one second behind Olivia Luhnau of Regis, Cabral touched the wall first in the 100-individual medley with a time of 1:12.99.

In two weeks, the Nor'easters will compete at the Husson University Relays.
