Gulls edge Nor’easters, 2-0

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott College women's ice hockey team defeated the University of New England, 2-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Saturday.
 
After a scoreless first period, Nicole Conner put the Gulls (8-6-2, 6-3-0 CCC) on the board at the 8:21 mark of the second with help from Jess Burwell and Emmerson Hayes.
 
UNE (6-9-1, 5-4-1 CCC) had a few chances to tie over the remainder of the game. Meghan Hamilton had a shot from close range late in the second period that was turned away by Endicott goaltender Michaela O'Brien. Maeve Crehan had a breakaway with 6:45 to play in the game with the Nor'easters down a skater, but was unable to get it past the right pad of O'Brien.
 
Samantha Fantasia added an empty net goal for the Gulls in the final minute.
 
Delanie Corcoran had another fantastic game in goal with 44 saves for UNE. O'Brien made 19 stops in the victory.
 
The Nor'easters return to the ice on Friday night for the 7th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Game against Nichols at 7 p.m.
