HAMDEN, Conn. – Army West Point [B] earned a 62-3 victory over the University of New England in a women's rugby match at Quinnipiac University on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Nor'easters managed a strong effort against the tough and physical Black Knights side. UNE showed several strong phases of possession, but were ultimately unable to capitalize against the Army defense. Salma Bezzat scored the lone points for the Nor'easters on a penalty kick late in the game. UNE used strong set pieces in the contest, winning all of its scrums and lineouts on the day.
 
The Nor'easters were led by solid defensive efforts from Bezzat, Celeste Valerio, Allie Gilbert, Liz Cogan, and Johanna Robinson.
 
UNE returns to action on Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Sept. 30. The opponent is to be determined.
