Results

OAKLAND, Maine -- The University of New England men's golf team fired a 311 to tie for 2nd place out of eight squads at the Thomas College Invitational on Saturday (Sep. 17) at Waterville Country Club.

Husson University, behind the two lowest rounds of the day on the par-70, 6,327-yard track from Max Woodman (71) and Jack King (73), carded a 295 to best both the Nor'easters and host Terriers. Saint Joseph's College (Maine) came in fourth with a team score of 324.

Jack Sicurella paced UNE with a career-low-tying round of 75, which was good for a piece of 4th in the field of 40 individuals. Jake Mielcarz shot 78, as did Rob Prentiss, for whom it was a personal best. Tom Higgins and Marcus Costa both posted 80 to complete to squad total.

Top-to-bottom, the Nor'easters were the most consistent group on the course. UNE led the field in par-3 scoring (3.5), just Sicurella did on his own (3.0). Sicurella also had the lowest par-4 average.

The University of Maine-Farmington Invitational will take place right at WCC on Sunday.
