Nina Parziale and
Kelsee Gladu chalked up 2nd-place and 4th-place finishes, respectively, to guide the University of New England women's cross country team to another Pop Crowell Invitational title at Gordon College on Saturday (Sep. 17) from a field of nine institutions.
The Nor'easters totaled 51 points to top the host Fighting Scots (74) and Endicott College (75). UNE's eighth consecutive win in the event comes three years removed from a string of seven straight (2013-19).
Rachel Brennan of Gordon completed the 6K course in 22:39 to lead the pack of 99 runners.
Parziale clocked 23:36 and Gladu crossed in 24:20 for the Nor'easters, with
Megan Fecteau also registering the top-10 (9th) at 24:55.
Jessie Martin (15th; 25:26) and
Leah O'Neill (21st; 26:23) rounded out the squad score.
UNE will take a couple weeks before competing in the Maine Championship in Bangor on October 1.
