WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The University of New England finished up its second varsity season at the New England Division III Track & Field Championships hosted by Williams College at the Lee Family Track on Saturday (May 7).
Rachel Pion,
Jasmine Syed,
Sydni Lehr, and
Erica Dimmick closed out the competition with an unofficial time of 4:13.00 in the 4x400 relay to place 13th in the event. Earlier in the day, the 4x100 relay of Pion,
Ashley Kelley, Lehr, and Dimmick finished with a time of 52.02.
Nina Parziale and Syed crossed the line back-to-back in the 5,000m with times of 18:41.70 and 18:48.08, respectively.
On Friday night,
Kelsee Gladu ran a 40:45.55 in the 10,000m, which happened to be a few seconds behind her twin sister, Kaylee, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Out of the five first-time qualifiers for the regional meet, Parziale and both relays had claimed gold medals last Saturday at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship. The Nor'easters had five CCC winners, one second-place, and four third, which improved on the three total top-three performances from their inaugural year.
