Nine recognized with All-CCC status

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior sprinter Erica Dimmick and graduate mid-distance runner Jasmine Syed led nine University of New England individuals factoring in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) year-end track & field all-conference teams and season awards for 2022 were announced Thursday (May 12) by CCC Associate Commissioner Doug Chin.

Dimmick and Syed both had multiple solo All-CCC performances in different events, and, combined with relays, totaled four and three honors, respectively. All-league honors are based solely on finish during the championship event, while the major awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches after the conclusion of the meet.

Syed in the 1500m, first-year Nina Parziale in the 5000m, and first-year Anna Evans in the high jump, along with the 4x100 relay of Rachel Pion, Ashley Kelley, Sydni Lehr, and Dimmick, and the 4x400 relay consisting of Pion, Syed, Lehr, and Dimmick, all achieved 1st Team accolades.

The Nor'easters swept the relay races and shared the most first-place finishes (5) with Gordon College.

Dimmick had the squad's lone 2nd Team in the 800m, and 3rd Team was notched by Dimmick in the 400m, Syed in the 800m, Megan Fecteau in the 3000m steeplechase, and Haley Slattery in the 5000m.
