WENHAM, Mass. -- The University of New England collected victories in the 1500m, 5000m, high jump, 4x100 relay, and 4x400 relay on the way to finishing 4th out of the seven institutions challenging for the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Track & Field Championship on Saturday (Apr. 30) at the Brigham Athletic Complex on the campus of Gordon College.

The host Fighting Scots totaled 126.5 team points to top field, followed closely by Endicott College (116.5), Suffolk University (113), and the Nor'easters (102). Three-time reigning champion Roger Williams University (69), Salve Regina University, and Nichols College rounded out the list.

UNE's five gold medals came from the 17 events in which the Nor'easters were represented. The squad also had one silver and four bronze performances.

Jasmine Syed clocked a school-record 4:51.48 to claim the 1500m race by 1.06 seconds. Nina Parziale was 6.25 seconds clear in the 5000m, posting a time of 18:33.70. Anna Evans was the other individual with a top finish, as the only of four competitors to successfully clear 1.52m in the high jump.

Syed also ran the second leg of the 4x400, which crossed the line in a program-best 4:14.08 to win by 5.56 seconds over Gordon. Rachel Pion, Sydni Lehr, and Erica Dimmick pulled double duty with the 4x400 and 4x100 relays, and the 4x100, along with Ashley Kelley, clipped the tape in another school record (51.69) to edge Endicott by 0.47 seconds.

Dimmick had the lone silver medal for UNE in the 800m, as her 2:30.19 was a mere 0.01 back of the leader. The Nor'easters also took 3rd and 4th in that race, behind the efforts of Syed (2:30.95) and Kailey Uresk (2:32.60), respectively.

Joining Syed's bronze in the 800m, Dimmick got one in the 400m (1:02.15), as did Haley Slattery in the 5000m (18:44.46) and Megan Fecteau in the 3000m steeplechase (12:54.52).

Izabella Haagenson established program records in both the triple jump (10.17m) and the 400m hurdles (1:12.87) -- each earning her 4th place in those events.

UNE received additional points from Pion's 5th in the 100m (13.32), Lehr's 5th in the long jump (4.66m) and 6th in the triple jump (9.85), a 5th-place discus throw by Kassidy Plummer (30.46), and a 6th-place effort out of Sophia King in the 400m hurdles (1:13.25).

The Nor'easters will have select individuals competing next weekend at the New England Championships, based on qualifying marks.
