Endicott eases past UNE, 18-1

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott College women's lacrosse team defeated the University of New England, 18-1, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at UNE Blue Bolt Field on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Katie Schenk led the Gulls with four goals and an assist on the day. Morgan Pike added three goals. Gabriella Prisco, Jaira Paine, and Carly Pierce also each scored twice. Katie Wagner dished our four assists to lead the way.
 
Schenk and Pike each scored three times in the first quarter as Endicott built a 7-0 lead. The Gulls extended the advantage to 11-0 at the half. Pierce scored twice in the second quarter.
 
Prisco scored her second of the day to start the third quarter. Barrie Guertin found Anna Stowell cutting behind the defense with 10:30 to go in the period for the Nor'easters only goal of the day. Paine closed the scoring for the Gulls in the period with her second goal, assisted by Wagner, to make the score 13-1.
 
Five different players scored for Endicott in the fourth quarter including the first goals of the season for Emily Typrowicz and Matilda Darrah.
 
Lydia Akin did not face a shot in goal in the first half and earned the victory for the Gulls. Kaitlin Bressette made three stops in the second half. Madison Bruzzese had 10 saves for UNE.
 
The Nor'easters return to the field on Saturday at Nichols at 1 p.m.
