BIDDEFORD, Maine – #12 Colby College defeated the University of New England, 18-3, in non-conference women's lacrosse action at UNE Blue Bolt Field on Tuesday evening.
A total of 12 different Mules scored a goal, led by Annie Eddy with three goals and an assist. Gianna Bruno added two goals and four assists. Elizabeth Hennessey, Tori Congdon, and Kins Helmer also had two goals each.
Colby took control of the game early as it jumped ahead 9-0 after a quarter of play. The duo of Eddy and Bruno connected for four straight goals during the period, with Bruno finding Eddy for three-in-a-row before she returned the favor.
Congdon scored two of the three goals for the Mules in the second quarter, Kailey O'Neill had the other, as the visitors took a 12-0 lead into the half.
Helmer, Ali Gill, and Gennie Littlejohn scored to extend the Colby lead to 15-0.
Barrie Guertin got the Nor'easters on the board with 3:14 to go in the third quarter off an assist from

Madison Bruzzese made 10 saves in the loss for the Nor'easters. Emily Podgorni stopped all three shots she faced in the first half in goal for Colby to earn the victory in net.
UNE returns to the field at home on Tuesday night against Lasell at 6 p.m.
