#10 Endicott downs UNE, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – Two third period goals by #10 Endicott College were the difference as it defeated the University of New England, 3-1, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's ice hockey matchup at Bourque Arena on Sunday afternoon.
 
Meghan Francis put the Gulls in front 7:07 into the opening period with help from Kat Keith and Jess Burwell. The lead would stand until the 11:47 mark of the second when Jenna Pych found Carolyn Curley for her team-leading seventh goal of the year to tie the game 1-1.
 
Endicott (14-4-1, 11-2-1 CCC) took the lead for good 3:02 into the third on a goal by Payton Hansen. Kellie Popkin extended the host's advantage to 3-1 with her fourth goal of the season with 10:37 to go in the third.
 
The Gulls held a 43-22 advantage in shots. Delanie Corcoran tied a season-best with 40 saves in the loss which drops UNE to 6-10-2 overall and 6-6-2 in conference play. Michaela O'Brian had 21 stops in the victory.
 
The Nor'easters return to the ice on the road against Suffolk on Friday night at 6 p.m.
