BIDDFORD, Maine – The University of New England men's ice hockey team rolled to an 8-0 victory over the Wentworth Institute of Technology in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at Saturday night at the Harold Alfond Forum.
Jayden Price scored two goals and was one of six Nor'easters with a multi-point game.
Billy Girard IV made 15 saves to pick up his second shutout of the season.
UNE (7-3-0, 7-2-0 CCC) scored twice within a span of 28 seconds late in the first period to get the night started. Juraj Elias redirected a blast off the stick of

Daniel Winslow also assisted on the first goal.
Will Spitzer finished a pass in the slot from
Mike Tersoni to give UNE a 2-0 lead at intermission. [

Price put back the rebound off a shot by
Ryan Kuzmich for his first goal of the night early in the second [
Watch]. Spitzer also added an assist on the goal. Price was able score on a wraparound after his initial attempts were saved to put the Nor'easters ahead 4-0 at the 13:43 mark of the second. [

The Nor'easters had a goal taken off the board after the officials determined it was scored with a high stick. Less than a minute after that,
Jared Christy blasted a one-timer from
Alex Sheehy to the back of the net from the near circle to extend the lead [

Anthony Sciucco also assisted on the goal. Tersoni was left open in the slot and scored to give UNE a 6-0 lead heading into the second intermission. [

Jake Fuss found
Aidan Curran near center ice to start a rush for the Nor'easters. Curran connected with Kuzmich who scored with 13:40 to play as UNE continued to pour it on [
Watch]. Fuss put in the final goal of the night as he was able to nudge the puck in as he was falling through the crease. [

Will Oliver started in goal for the Leopards (2-9-1, 1-8-1 CCC) and allowed five goals and made 22 saves. Jack McGovern allowed three goals and had 10 stops. UNE outshot Wentworth 40-15 in the victory.
The Nor'easters are off for three weeks until they play in the Middlebury College Holiday Classic over New Year's weekend. UNE will play SUNY Cortland on Dec. 31 at 4 p.m.
